Introduction 简介
The fast growing construction, property and infrastructure markets of China has kept attracting the eyeballs of foreign AEC firms and property/infrastructure developers. The GDP for 2007 exceeded 24 trillion RMB Yuan, and total investment in fixed assets was beyond 13 trillion RMB Yuan. According to China s promises in the protocol on entry into WTO, the local markets will be further open. However, foreign companies’ performance in this dynamic market cannot be said to be successful. One of the reasons is a lack of understanding of the institutions of the country in transition and failure to take effective strategic management and project management practices. On the other hand, Chinese contractors have started expanding into overseas markets and achieved significant success in terms of turnover size. However, without clear understanding of foreign business environment, market entry and operation performance were poor and numerous projects fell into trouble. Hence, both sides have a need to know each other better.
中国快速增长的庞大市场,吸引了全球众多建筑、工程与施工(AEC)公司以及地产和基础设施开发商。2007年,中国的GDP超过了24万亿人民币,而固定资产投资超过了13万亿人民币。根据中国加入WTO的承诺,国内的市场将进一步对外开放。但是,很多外国公司在中国的表现并不是很成功,原因之一是缺乏对中国制度的足够了解,所以不能采取有效的战略管理和项目管理措施。另一方面,中国国内的承包商也开始向国外市场拓展,就营业额而言取得了巨大的成功。但是,由于对国外商业环境理不够,造成了公司运营很差,很多项目陷入困境。因此,国内外的承包商都急需更好的了解对方的市场环境。
The Institute of International Engineering Project Management (IIEPM) of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China has well recognized the need for the mutual understanding and aims to contribute to the communication between the two sides in this regard. Based on the close interaction with the global construction industry, an initiative for a global program to introduce the construction management practices in different markets was proposed and soon positively and widely received.
在长期致力于国际工程方面的教育、培训和研究工作的过程中,清华大学国际工程项目管理研究院(以下简称:研究院)深刻地认识到这一要求,并致力于促进国内外承包商去理解对方的市场环境。基于和全球建筑行业的紧密互动,研究院全力打造了一个全球课程计划,旨在介绍全球不同市场环境下的建设管理实践。
Goal目标
The goal of this program is to broaden the horizon of construction industry practitioners in China and from around the globe to know the various management practices in different markets.

Course outline 课程大纲
The one week program (November 10, 2008 through November 16, 2008) offers an intensified but comprehensive introduction of the legal, political, social, economic environments of China and effective strategic management and project management practices of local and foreign AEC firms and developers to survive and grow in the Chinese market. The students will also gain hands-on experience of the related industries and markets through site visits and interaction with Chinese students, professors, government officials and industry practitioners (either local or from abroad).
课程时间为一周(2008年11月10日到11月16日),对国内外工程建设公司和开发商在中国的市场环境下生存和成长所涉及的法律、政治、社会和经济的环境以及战略管理和项目管理实践等方面做了集中而全面的介绍。通过实地考察,与业界知名教授学者、政府官员、以及国内外行业精英交流探讨,学员将会获得相关行业和市场的宝贵经验。
Instructors 讲师
Instructors come from different organizations with various educational and professional backgrounds, including university professors (local or overseas), governmental officials, AEC firm management (local or overseas), client organization representatives (local or overseas), lawyers, and consultants. All instructors have both rich experience in the construction market of China and deep understanding of the institutions and practices of the industry. Skillful instruction capability is also a criterion for selecting instructors for this program.

Certificate 学习证书
Upon completion of the training program, a student will be granted a Certificate of Property/Infrastructure/Property Markets: Institutions and Management Practices in both English and Chinese issued by Tsinghua University.
学习期满,学习报告通过评审,由清华大学颁发“地产/基础设施/建设市场: 制度和管理实践证书”(中英文)。
